VORTEX OF CRITICISM ON WATER TAXIS STIMULUS RATES KPRC REPORT
Adrian Heath | May 25, 2010
The hard working taxpayers of the woodlands have yet another candidate for Hometown Hero. This time it’s Stephen Dean from KPRC Channel 2.
Recall that we first derided the money losing plunder craft known as the Water taxis in May 2009 in WOODLANDS BLACK HOLE CALLED “ATTRACTION” following the highly informed recommendations of tax feeding transportation guru Barry Goodman who consulted us to a $240,000 loss. At the time socialite Nelda Blair explained this anomaly as a lack of marketing which would be cured by transferring the barges to woodlands CVB.
Then recently the Taxis to nowhere were recognized for their worthless drain (pardon the pun) on public funds by ranking 81 out 102 of “The 102 worst ways the government is spending your tax dollars” courtesy of Sean Hannity himself.
Not to be deterred, the Township seemingly adopted the time tested slogan of Naval Lore first uttered by Admiral Farragut – namely “Damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead!”
But now thanks to the heroic investigative work of Stephen Dean the plunder craft have hit a mine that threatens to swamp the the fleet. Not even Plunder Woman can reverse the spin cycle on this load.
Dean has revealed that the woodlands decision makers who approved the grant requests for fed funds actually claim that the plunder boats would relieve freeway congestion. Huh?
One fact Dean did not mention in his report is that the Woodlands do not even own the said vessels. They still belong to the Woodlands Development Company.
