Congressional candidates test constitutional knowledge

Texas 8th district Candidates invited to  submit answers to basic constitutional knowledge quiz.

Montgomery County Citizen has invited all candidates seeking election as Representative for Texas 8th congressional district including the Libertarian candidate.

The invitation was delivered via email to  Congressman Kevin Brady, Tyler Russell, Scott Baker, mecio Franco and Bruce West.

Candidates are asked to rubmit their response to 20 questions on the legislative branch and 10 questions on the executive branch plus 2 questions regarding the tenth amendment.

The last question seek to learn why the candidates for federal office have declined to sign a pledge focused on the tenth amendment to the constitution that have already been signed by Texas Representatives Brandon Creighton and Rob Eissler.

The question are reproduced below and the candiates answers will be published as they are received.

Suppose a high government official is convicted in an impeachment hearing and removed from office. Can that individual also be prosecuted for any criminal offenses that led to his or her impeachment?

What amendment to the United States Constitution changed the manner in which senators were chosen

Can a state produce bills of credit (paper money)?

When did the British Parliament pass the Habeas Corpus Act, which the American colonists later adopted as part of their own law?

When the United States captures territory from an enemy, do the inhabitants of that territory automatically become citizens of the United States?
